How can I help?
Woodcraft is made by one person, and that person answers the mail. Write any time — or look below, the answer may already be here.
Write to me.
Questions, problems, licence trouble, or something that just doesn't behave the way it should at the bench — it all reaches me directly.
I usually reply within a day, occasionally two if I'm in the shop.
Email support hello@woodcraft2.app- Tell me whether you're on Mac or iPad, and which app version.
- Describe what you did and what happened, in order.
- Attach a screenshot if it's something visible.
- Beta testers: send it through TestFlight instead so the build details come with it.
Common questions.
Where do I find help inside the app?
Woodcraft has a full help system built in. Tap the question-mark icon (questionmark.circle) anywhere in the app and it lists everything on the screen you're looking at, with video tutorials embedded alongside. The tutorial library keeps growing with each update.
What do I need to run Woodcraft?
macOS 26 or later, or iPadOS 26 or later.
Two features have extra requirements: augmented-reality viewing needs an iPhone or iPad, and live spatial preview needs an Apple-silicon Mac on macOS 27 with Apple Vision Pro on visionOS 27.
How do I work on the same project on my Mac and my iPad?
Keep your projects in iCloud Drive. Save a file there from either device and it's available on the other, ready to open and keep working.
Where are my files stored, and how do I back them up?
Woodcraft uses a document-based format, so each project is an ordinary file you own. Put it wherever you like — iCloud Drive, an external disk, a folder on your Mac — and copy or back it up like any other document. Nothing is locked inside the app.
Can I export my design to another app?
Yes. Woodcraft exports to USDZ, which opens in Quick Look, Preview, and most 3D tools on Apple platforms.
There is currently no import from other CAD formats.
Can I get the cut list out of the app?
Yes — both the bill of materials and the cut list export as a PDF document, ready to print or take to the yard.
I bought the Mac app. Do I get the iPad app too?
No. The Mac and iPad versions are each a real native app, built for how you work on that device, and each is bought on its own. Buy just the one you use, or both if the desk and the shop are different places.
Is Woodcraft a subscription?
No. Each app is a one-time purchase — no monthly fee, no expiry, and nothing stops opening if you stop paying. As Woodcraft grows the price will rise gradually, but the price you paid is the only price you'll ever pay for that app, and new features arrive free.
Does Woodcraft support Family Sharing?
Yes. Family Sharing is enabled, so your purchase can be shared with the people in your family group.
I need a refund.
All purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple rather than by me. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If something isn't working, though, write to me first — it may be a bug I can fix.
Can I work in fractional inches?
Yes. Woodcraft reads and accepts fractional imperial measurements as well as metric, so you can work in whatever the rest of your shop uses.
How do I see a design in my actual room?
Send the model to an iPhone or iPad and place it in the room in augmented reality, at full scale, before you cut anything. It's often the moment you discover a piece is too tall or too deep for where it's going.
Does the Apple Pencil do anything special?
On iPad the Pencil is your selection tool: tap to pick a part, drag to sweep an area, while your fingers keep control of the camera. Double-tap its flat side to switch between replace and toggle selection.
Requires an iPad with a compatible Apple Pencil; double-tap requires a Pencil that supports it.
I found a bug. What should I send you?
Write to hello@woodcraft2.app and include as much of this as you can:
- The app version and whether you're on Mac or iPad
- Your macOS or iPadOS version
- What you were doing, step by step
- What happened, and what you expected instead
- A screenshot, if it's something you can see
If it's reproducible, the steps matter more than anything else.
I'm a beta tester. Should I report bugs here?
Use TestFlight's feedback instead — take a screenshot in the app and send it from there. That attaches your build number, device, and logs automatically, which saves us both a round of questions.
For anything longer than a paragraph, email is still welcome.
Can you add a feature?
Please ask. Woodcraft is built by one person and the list of what to build next is shaped mostly by what people tell me they're missing.
Some of what's already planned is on the features page — curves and turning, and new power tools like the router and planer.
